Crit range of 13-20
Ok so what do you guys have to say about Improved Critical and Keen stacking again, like it did in 3.0
Re: Crit range of 13-20
Now that I've been able to mull it over. Sounds perfectly fine for me, and it opens up more character stats to tinker with since a low range like that could mean lower strength settings on some melee classes.

Re: Crit range of 13-20
Ok, on this issue I could vote yes on both sides. Let me ask this:
Do you really want a Rogue that can insta Kill with out having to roll
a Double 20?

Re: Crit range of 13-20
Remember a couple of things on rouges. Their normal damage is lower than most fighter classes, sneak attack isn't crit multiplied, and a rouge needs a higher level to get the feat. So that isn't a balance issue. Besides that works for all classes, and also includes your opposition. So balance stays in effect. The main thing that changes most dramatically would be the burst weapon attributes, which are most powerful on crits after all.
Re: Crit range of 13-20
Ok I see where you are coming from now. To balance this out simply do this:
Rapier + Crit = 2x Base Damage
Rapier + Sneak Attack + Crit = 2x Base Damage + ?D6
Rapier + Burst Fire + Sneak Attack + Crit = 2x Base Damage + ?D6 (what ever Burst Fire does on a normal Attack) +?D6.
Basically on a Crit the only thing that gets Multiplied is the Base Damage.
eg. A +1 Flaming Rapier in the hands of a Lvl 2 Rogue on a Crit would do:
2D6 + 1D6 Fire + 1D6 Sneak Attack
In my Opinion if the description of Sneak Attack States you are hitting a "Vital" area for extra damage on a Non-Crit Attack then on a crit it should Double also, But since it is extra damage
and is not susceptible to being multiplied then any added damage to a weapon such as Fire,
Cold, Sonic, etc, etc should not be Multiplied either. I mean look you can have Fire Damage
added to your weapon on 1 upgrade and then get the Fire Damage Bonus for a Crit roll on
another already, so it is already telling you that the Extra damage you add to your weapon
is not Multiplied when you score a crit. So I see no problem with letting Keen stack with the
Improved Crit Feat.
